Online Presentation: No longer static and stale

In these challenging and uncertain times, many activities cannot help but be conducted online.  Traditionally, due to the fact that cameras are static, a presenter is restricted in their movement.  Should the presenter need to move freely, extra manpower is required to maneuver the cameras.  An issue as such has come to the fore since the increase in demand for PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras in corporate and educational sectors.  

 

At Panasonic, we reshape what we do and reinvent the online equation for presenters to express themselves freely, thus allowing them to reach out to their audience without any limitation.  In the latest release of the Panasonic Auto Tracking Software Key AW-SF100/200, on the strength of our deep learning-based technology, this product is capable of seamlessly tracking the presenters throughout without interruption.

 

Features

High Precision Tracking with Face Recognition and Human Detection

The robust face recognition module allows the camera to identify registered faces even under difficult settings, such as change of the lighting, masked face, etc.  Given the Panasonic Auto Tracking Software Key AW-SF100/200, the user can choose to switch the focus to a particular presenter in the presence of multiple people.  At that, the camera is able to locate and follow the presenters when he or she is moving around the stage.

Auto Zoom

By enabling the auto zoom function, the user is able to get a great focus on the target person even when the target person moves too far or too close to the camera.

Future Work

We are living in an unprecedented time.  Where we work, where innovation takes place, where business value is created – it all has changed.  So, where next?  As disruption and uncertainty continue, Panasonic R&D Center Singapore, as an R&D arm of Panasonic Corporation, will continue to reach beyond what we know today, rethink how to drive technological innovation when creating business value for tomorrow.  As our past builds our present and future, we are setting our sights on extending the application of unmanned cameras to larger events such as sports, concerts, TV studios, and so on.
