The Future Convenience Store Challenge at IREX2019 is a stepping stone to the World Robot Summit 2020 slated for October 2020. Panasonic R&D Center Singapore is responsible for developing camera calibration technology required for the robot to localize its own position and also to precisely locate target objects for its pick-and-place tasks. Having a tough contest against the other 10 strong teams during a 3-day intensive competition, the NAIST-RITS-Panasonic team successfully landed the top spot for stocking and disposing tasks, while obtaining the 2nd position in a ranking for both customer interaction and restroom cleaning tasks.
