Job Description and Requirement/Responsibility
We are seeking a Wireless Network R&D / Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and improve mobile core network software for Private Mobile Networks.
The successful candidate will contribute to 3GPP-compliant mobile core functions, translating telecom specifications into maintainable, reliable, and production-ready software.
This role combines hands-on software engineering, network protocol research, cloud-based test environment development, interoperability testing, fault analysis, and technical documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will support R&D and software development for mobile core network products, with responsibilities spanning software design, protocol implementation, cloud-based testing, quality improvement, and technical documentation.
Mobile Core Software Design & Development
- Design and implement mobile core network functions using Go, with opportunities to apply Rust where suitable.
- Research 3GPP specifications and translate relevant requirements into software design, implementation, and test requirements.
- Develop maintainable, reliable, and operable software components for Private Mobile Network products.
Protocol & Network Engineering
- Work with mobile core protocols and interfaces such as S1AP, PFCP, GTP, Diameter, RTP, and SIP.
- Apply Linux and IP networking knowledge to support network software development, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze network behavior using logs, packet captures, and tools such as Wireshark.
Testing, Quality & Interoperability
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, interoperability testing, and load testing.
- Build cloud-based test environments on GCP and conduct validation under realistic operating conditions.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve defects through systematic fault investigation and quality improvement activities.
Cloud-Native & DevOps Engineering
- Use Docker and related virtualization technologies to support development and test environments.
- Apply Git-based team development practices, including code reviews and design reviews.
- Contribute to cloud-native development practices, with opportunities to work with Kubernetes and scalable deployment environments.
Documentation & Team Collaboration
- Write clear technical documentation covering design decisions, software behavior, test results, and operational considerations.
- Collaborate with engineers, researchers, product stakeholders, and partner teams to deliver high-quality network software.
- Communicate technical findings clearly through logical problem analysis and structured reporting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Experience developing commercial software.
- Implementation experience using the Go programming language.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and IP networking.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Docker.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud-based development or testing environments.
- Team development experience using Git.
- Strong logical problem analysis, technical communication, and collaboration skills.

- Fault analysis experience using Wireshark.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Cloud-native development experience.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
