Sugiri leads Panasonic R&D Center Singapore’s Learning & Vision Team, a group of skilled specialists passionate about advancing artificial intelligence (AI). Under his leadership, the team’s innovations have been consistently commercialised into Panasonic products over the past few years across various market segments.

The team’s achievements have earned numerous external and internal honours. Sugiri has also forged local and regional partnerships by connecting his team to Singapore’s and the region’s vibrant AI ecosystem and opportunities.

Sugiri holds B.Eng and M.Eng degrees from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He joined Panasonic R&D Center Singapore in 2003, accumulating technical and management experience over two decades. Further complementing his skills are an Executive Certificate in Engineering Leadership from Nanyang Business School and an Executive Certificate in Leadership and People Management from Singapore Management University. He has also received a Certified Professional Business Manager certification from Singapore Management University.
